San Diego, USA – Incoming
A small party of seven ambassadors visited Derbyshire as part of a 'Grand Tour' of Britain. As well as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, they visited DH Lawrence's old home and Denby Pottery, as well as enjoying a number of meals at the homes of members of the Derbyshire Friendship Force. Cottbus, Germany - Outgoing
Twelve ambassadors spent a very interesting and enjoyable week in the far east of Germany, during which we visited Dresden and Görlitz in addition to spending an afternoon being punted through quiet streams in the nearby Spreewald and visiting a fascinating museum devoted to the indigenous Sorb peoples.

Hertfordshire - Outgoing
Fourteen ambassadors spent an enjoyable long weekend in Hertfordshire, following their successful visit to Derbyshire in May 2009. Some pictures taken during the exchange can be found here.

Greater Denver, USA - Incoming
Ten ambassadors, their numbers slightly depleted due to fears over the Icelandic volcano, visited Derbyshire for an enjoyable week during which we, and they, visited some new attractions as well as some old favourites. They visited both Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth, made frogs and painted plates at Denby Pottery, explored an 18th century working windmill, and walked through an old lead mine after a cable-car ride to the Heights of Abraham. Leuven, Belgium - Outgoing
Eleven ambassadors spent a very enjoyable few days in Leuven, during which we explored both Leuven and Antwerp, as well as spending an afternoon tasting different beers during a walk around the village of Hoegaarden. Some pictures of this exchange can be seen here..
